Sail Your Boat

Cleveland Race Week is near. One Design weekend is next week 6-20 and 6-21. Attendance looks great this year. I’ll be at the mast on a J-105 for OD Weekend. And of course sailing Jack of Hearts for Keelboat races. What are you all doing for CRW?

Ooching and pumping is seemingly allowed in all boats these days. Seems to me that it sort of changes the game in a big way. for years it was considered prohibited propulsion. Not in the spirit of the action of the wind on the sails so to speak. It seems a bit like allowing an aluminum bat in major league baseball. It changes the whole game. Maybe because most of our sports records are for going the fastest in a ton of wind where pumping and ooching doesn’t matter so much it doesn’t matter at all. What do y’all think?
